K51
K51 is 100% hand-made, hand-moulded and blue-tempered, i.e. fired in low-oxygen conditions, with four equally usable sides. Each brick bears the thumbprints of the craftsperson who made it. K51 has a variety of cool, light grey-blue shades with hints of green.
K51 was the first brick in the Kolumba range and was developed in collaboration with architect Peter Zumthor for the Kolumba Museum in Cologne, which opened in 2007.
